Two world-famous museums, monuments with works by the great artists who were born in this area (Francesco Petrarca, Giorgio Vasari, Piero della Francesca, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Pietro Aretini, Guido Monaco, Cimabue, Bernardo Rossellino, Mecenate, Francesco Redi, Vittorio Fossombroni, Andrea cesalpino, Francesco Severi and others) and one of the most beautiful historic centers in Italy make it a destination with few comparisons.
And again the very important events that take place in Arezzo: The monthly Antiques Fair (1st Sunday of each month and previous Saturday) Born in 1968 and progenitor of all the antiques markets subsequently born in Italy, still the largest and most important of they, the Giostra del Saracino which, with its two editions (3rd Saturday in June and 1st Sunday in September) is among the most important Italian historical re-enactments and the Gold Fair, an international goldsmith’s event, of which Arezzo it is one of the most important poles in the world.
Arezzo is also a destination for lovers of good food, for its restaurants and for the culinary events (Gusti&Sapori and others) that are organized there, as well as being a point of reference for parachuting enthusiasts, with its well-equipped airport.
